Evaporative cooling is known as a low cost cooling technology for large industrial plants such as cement plants.
The gases are cooled, whereafter the particles are removed in a bag filter.
To cool hot gases prior to a bag filter a cooling tower is normally used. Such cooling tower has normally a hight of 20-30 m. For smaller gas flows that needs to be cooled, for instance in medium sized indusries, incenerators and gasification plants is a cooling tower of such size not applicable.
Dall Energy have developed and patented an evaporative cooler which needs only limited space. The compact cooler have height below 8 m.
The compact cooler has been verified in a lab scale gasification plant.
